This is the second of May's books that I've read, and I'm genuinely sorry that I'm finished with it and have to wait for another to arrive in my mailbox. Not everything in May's books is about cars, but that's part of what makes them so brilliant, even when he is obviously trying far too hard to make an esoteric gripe about politics fit into the motoring world. It simply doesn't matter - his spot-on criticisms, hyperboles, and satire are wonderful. His proposed solution to road rage nearly killed me I laughed so hard. Apart from being funny, May is also quite well informed, and clearly makes an honest effort at being non-ethnocentric, as is evidenced in his more serious article on American car manufacturing. This book is golden; you will love it.

Amusing and my boyfriend says the chapters are the perfect length for when you're on the toilet )
This is a collection of funny essays. I happen to think British humor is very funny and there is plenty of it here.
A good lightweight read. I enjoyed it, and read it in nearly one sitting. True, it was while stuck waiting on a plane at O'Hare, but even so. James May writes very well, and his somewhat quirky approach to things appeals to me.
James May is hilarious. His book is a fun read and a lot of what he says makes complete sense. I would recommend to any fans of Mr. May.
This is James May at his best. Even smarter and funnier than on Top Gear. Great reading. For. Informative. Well done!
James May got me in HUGE trouble with my Wife.

She was trying to SLEEP, while at the same time Mr. May kept making me guffaw LOUDLY.

He's an excellent writer, but I don't think he is very considerate of people's feelings. As I am now removed to the couch for the remainder of the book, I am writing here to simply alert anyone who is planning on reading any of Mr. May's works about this inconsiderate attitude!

I ordered this book used. As I expected it may be a bit rough, but the book is definitely in rougher shape then would have imagined. Still readable, which works for me.
